  2. Outline • Welcome by Associate Director of SCIS • Introduction of Participants • Overview of Project • Workshop Objectives • Workshop Materials • Acknowledgements • Pretest

  3. History of Project • WReSTT – Web-based Repository of Software Testing Tools (version 1) • Provided students and instructors with an online repository of tutorials on software testing tools. • WReSTT (version 2) • Added collaborative learning and social networking features • Introduced tutorials on testing concepts

  4. Project Goals Create new learning materials and develop faculty expertise to significantly increase the number of undergraduate students that are exposed to testing methodologies and the use of testing tools in undergraduate courses.

  5. Project Objectives • Create new software testing learning objects and transform WReSTT into a cyberlearning environment (WReSTT-CyLE – Web-based Repository of Software Testing Tutorials: A Cyber-learning Environment). • Conduct bi-annual workshops to develop faculty expertise in software testing and in using the new features in WReSTT-CyLE to support pedagogy.

  6. Project Objectives cont • Foster students’ acquisition of software testing concepts and skills in upper-level undergraduate courses with a programming component. • Promote the new features and learning objects in WReSTT-CyLE, and disseminate the research findings and success stories from the project to the academic community.

  7. Workshop Specific Objectives • Provide a forum where CS/IT instructors can improve their knowledge of software testing and software testing tools. • Expose participants to WReSTTand its various features, including the collaborative learning and learning objects features. • Explore pedagogical techniques that use WReSTTto improve student learning in the area of software testing.

  8. Workshop Outcomes • Participants are expected to increase their knowledge of software testing and software testing tools. • Participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of the features in WReSTT and how they may be used to support pedagogy in software testing. • Participants are expected to use the features of WReSTTto support pedagogy.

  9. Workshop Materials Folders: • Wired/Wireless access information • Schedule • Pretest • Presenters’ evaluation form • FIU Map • Participant list
