Exploring Chinese Culture: A Comprehensive Inquiry for Grades 3/4
This project, developed by Sheila Kirby and Cathy Simon at Leal Elementary School, immerses 3rd and 4th graders in the rich tapestry of Chinese culture through a variety of engaging activities. Students will "travel" to China by exploring art, music, history, and more. Key components include a school presentation, a Chinese banquet, and hands-on experiences with traditional items like silk, bamboo crafts, and musical instruments. Through collaboration, inquiry, and creativity, students will gain insight into the life and values intrinsic to Chinese culture.
