  3. Past Tense Verbs Things that have already happened!

  4. The verbs in our sentences tell the time of action. It tells the present. It tells the past. It tells the future. Let’s concentrate on the past tense.

  5. The verb break The verb break is in the present tense. It’s an irregular verb, therefore we would have to change the spelling a bit to make it past tense. Tom broke his leg while he was chasing Jerry.

  8. Regular Verbs Just add (–ed) to change the regular verbs from present tense to past tense.
