  2. What Is Basketball? • Basketball is a team sport, the objective is being to shoot a ball through a basket horizontally positioned to score points while following a set of rules. Usually, two teams of eleven players but five players play on a court with a basket at each end of the court. Basketball is one of the world's most popular and widely viewed sports.

  3. How Do You Play Basketball • Basketball has five player positions, point guard [PG], shooting guard [SG], small forward [SF], power forward [PF], and center [C]. The objective of the game is to score more points then the other team before the clock runs out. The team scores by shooting the ball in the hoop, every shot is 2 points or you can score a 3 pointer. It also has rules that you have to follow while playing this game.

The Rules While Playing Basketball • The rules while playing basketball is that the ball must stay on the court, the last team to touch the ball before it goes out of bounds forfeits possession of the ball. The person with the ball may not step with both feet without dribbling else it would be call traveling or dribble with both hands or hold the ball and resume dribbling this would be call double dribble. Once the team with the ball passes the half court line they can not cross back or it would be ruled backcourt, also the team with the ball have to score before the 24 shot clock go off. Another rule is that opponent physical contact a player it is illegal and called a foul. The person fouled will take one or more foul shots. A player or coach who shows poor sportsmanship, such as by arguing with a referee or by fighting with another player can be charged with a more serious foul called a technical foul where the other team gets free throws shots and the ball back. These are some of the rules while playing basketball.
