  2. Our “High 5” School-wide Behavior Expectations: • Be Respectful • Encourage One Another • Nobody’s Left Out • Everyone Makes Safe Choices • Listen Actively

  3. PBIS In Classrooms • The first level of PBS intervention occurs within our classrooms! 80% of our students will be successful with the level of support provided in the classroom with school-wide expectations.

  4. Classroom Safety at Bennington Elementary • Students spend most of their day in the classroom. Our SWIS data has reflected that 75% of behavior incidents at our school are occurring within classrooms.

  5. Time Well Spent • We will teach students how each behavior expectation is exhibited in the classroom by pre-teaching, modeling and re-teaching the expectations. Classrooms must be a safe place where all students can access learning.

  6. Arrival • Be Respectful – Enter the room quietly & hang up your things. • Encourage One Another – Help your friends & work quietly at table activity. • Nobody’s Left Out – Everyone can participate. • Everyone Makes Safe Choices – Sit in your chair at the activity table. • Listen Actively – Take turns talking.

  7. Morning Meeting • Be Respectful –Raise hands to talk. • Encourage One Another – Compliment ideas. • Nobody’s Left Out – Take turns. • Everyone Makes Safe Choices – Safe hands, feet, and mouth. • Listen Actively – Eyes and ears on the speaker.

  8. Learning Centers • Be Respectful – Work quietly, use materials properly, follow adult directions. • Encourage One Another – Be on task and do your best. • Nobody’s Left Out – Help your friends. • Everyone Makes Safe Choices – Sitting safely in chairs/on floor at work stations. • Listen Actively – Follow adult directions.

  9. Lunch/Snack • Be Respectful – Keep food in your mouth & chew carefully. • Encourage One Another – Show your friends appropriate table manners. • Nobody’s Left Out – Include others at the table and in conversations. • Everyone Makes Safe Choices – Only eat your own food, stay in your seat. • Listen Actively – Take turns talking.

  10. Dismissal • Be Respectful – Wait in your seat with a quiet voice. • Encourage One Another – Be on task when you are cleaning up & packing your bag. • Nobody’s Left Out – Leave only when your grown-up has entered the room. • Everyone Makes Safe Choices – Walk, be safe in the closet area, tell teacher you are leaving. • Listen Actively – Follow adult directions.
