A library card will allow me to: • Check out materials • Books, movies, music, audio books • Use the computers • Access library information from any computer • Look up your account • Renew or request materials • Use electronic resources
How do I use the catalog? • Go to www.columbuslibrary.org and click “Catalog” • Type in a word or two about what you are looking for • Use the “Advanced Search” option to find specific items • Put items in your Book Bag and reserve them all at once! • Click “My Account” to look up information about your library account
Useful Books & Materials • Materials for learning English • Books, workbooks, CDs, DVDs • Materials in other languages • Spanish, Chinese, French, Somali and more • Immigration & citizenship information • Citizenship test & interview study guides • Books & DVDs • Testing & licensing study guides • GED, ACT, SAT, GRE, TOEFL, CDL, RN, Driver’s License
Computers Basics • Sign up with your library card to use an Internet computer up to 3 times each day • Print pages in black-and-white ($0.10 per page) or color ($0.50 per page)

Go to the “Customer Service” desk to: • Get or renew a library card • Ask questions about your library card account • Pay library fines • Remove security cases from DVDs & CDs after checking them out • Change your address or phone number
Go to the “Information” desk to: • Find materials in the library • ESOL books, DVDs, CDs • Immigration & citizenship books and DVDs • Study guides for tests • Request materials to be sent from other libraries
Go to the “Information” desk to: • Get help finding immigration, citizenship, & tax forms online • Get help with computers, printing, & photocopying • Get help finding driving directions • Get help finding community resources • Immigration services, child care, tutoring, health

Fresh Start Program • Twice a year you can read-off your fines! • Read-off rate is $8 per hour • Bring your library card and something to read to the “Ask Here” desk to sign up • Program only for fines
For the Kids.... • Homework Help Center • Students can get free homework help, use our school supplies and computers, & print assignments for free • Kindergarten – 12th grade • Monday – Thursday, 3—6 p.m.
For the family… • Bilingual Family Storytime • Books, songs, & stories in Spanish & English • Wednesday, 7 p.m. • Begins June 18 • Drop in and read! • Stories and songs for the whole family • Tuesday, 5 p.m. • Begins June 10
Summer Reading Club • For Kids, Teens, & Adults • Earn prizes for reading & participating in programs • June 7 – August 1 • Fun programs & activities
For Parents.... • Ready to Read packets • Free packet for parents with babies • Includes a board book, manual of fingerplays and games, parent’s handbook, & library card application for baby • Spanish board book available • Learn skills & activities to help your child get ready to read
Library customs and safety.... • We want you & your family to feel safe in the library. Here are ways you can help: • Do not leave children under age 7 unattended • Keep voices quiet while in the library • Tell staff member if you see something dangerous, disruptive, or inappropriate
