  2. Possibility of customization and extension of feature-set in HW & SW Possibility to assemble several versions of the device Friendly interface (Cell-Phone like keyboard, LCD Display)‏ Portable and hand-held with internal rechargeable battery Support for USB and microSD card for data transfer Overview (Reminder...)‏ A versatile, multi-purposed, portable and low-priced measurement device that can instantly measure and display results, or store data for later re-evaluation. The device will be easy to use and will allow some degree of monitoring and control over its environment using various measurements. In addition,

  3. So Far... • Preliminary design and characterization. • Found necessary HW for all features. • Detailed mechanical design in a 6.1x10x2.5cm box, with 3D model ensuring all HW can fit in such a small device. • Electrical design for all possible hardware. • (in progress) Layout.

  4. Mechanical Design The device with closed top. Visible: Graphic LCD, Keypad, IRt/c, UV Sensor.

  5. Mechanical Design The device with open top. Visible: Graphic LCD, Keypad and Main PCB, USB Port.

  6. Mechanical Design The device with open top, LCD and Keypad removed. Visible: Main PCB, most sensors and components.

  7. Electrical Design Functional Block Diagram:

  8. Electrical Design Example Schematic: Accelerometer

  9. Electrical Design Example Simulation: Pressure Sensor
