  3. Why is she so important in 2012? To mark 60 years of The Queen's reign the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012. The celebrations will be held from the 2nd – 5th of June. The Queen came to the throne on 6th, February 1952 and her coronation took place on the 2nd, June 1953. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee (25 years) in 1977 and her Golden Jubilee (50 years) in 2002.

  5. Our Turn! We are going to look at a ‘Head’ image of the queen, and we will see if we can copy it. We will need; Art Books Sharp Pencils Ruler Rubber

  6. Look at the shapes we need to use. This picture has no colour, but her face shape is more clear to see. From her hair to her chin is an oval shape, lets start with this;

  7. Now we have drawn the shape of the head, neck and shoulders in light (soft) pencil, we will look at the face pattern. Each Line Is a rough Guide to Show us Where the eyes Nose, mouth, And ears are Placed. We call This ‘Face Map’.
