  3. Wii-Frogger • Remake of the Konami arcade game Frogger (1981) • The player’s task is to guide the frog to the other side of the river while dodging traffic • To do so the frog should avoid the traffic and jump over logs floating on the river

  4. Map Layout

  5. Wii-Mote • The frog moves are given by moving the Wii-mote in the four directions (up,down,left,right) • Wireless control system not precise at current time. Will be improved in next release. • In the next release the wii-mote will be used for other moves (use the frog’s tongue, swinging, etc)

  6. Traffic • Two types of moving objects: • Cars • Logs • Algorithm used to generate car prevents overlap in cars and gives user chance to dodge traffic

  7. Rules • Frog loses life from following • Run out of time • Hit by car • Sink in water • Out of bounds • Points • For each successful jump forward 10 points • For each remaining unit of time 20 points

  11. 3D Modeling • Tools used: Blender 3D, Photoshop • Used some pre-existing textures and 3D models • Main models used in the game: • Frog • Cars (4 colors) • Logs

  14. Sounds • Music loops • Frog jump • Street traffic • Used Audacity to modify some sounds • Used GarageBand for intro sound

Future Works • Add other levels with more Wii functions: • Catching flies with the frog’s tongue (Wii-mote used as a pointing device) • Stick to objects and swinging with the tongue • Save/Load function • Hi-Score function • Add more 3D models for cars and better graphics • More animations for frog movements
