  4. How it began • Hammaad Munshi • The youngest convicted terrorist in the UK • Resident of Dewsbury • At 15yrs old, recruited and radicalised on the internet • Convicted August 2008 at Blackfriars Crown Court and sentenced to 2yrs

  6. Inclusive rather than Exclusive • All communities targeted • Not too explicit to avoid shutting off computers • Not too soft to avoid sentiment that bad things happen but it happens somewhere else • Raise awareness of a variety of concerns about the internet

Safeguarding children • Engagement with 50 faith & community organisations attended by approx 10,000 children in Kirklees • ‘Safeguarding Children – Guidance for Madressahs & Supplementary Schools’ - The 48 page booklet: • Provides guidance for safeguarding children and young people who attend madressahs and supplementary schools; • Promotes the effective behaviour management of pupils; and • Discusses methods of ensuring the health and safety of staff and pupils

Capacity building • Capacity building for mosque leaders and madressah teachers – training programme to improve governance and to increase resilience to risks of extremism • ‘eSafety – Safeguarding Children on the Internet’ • awareness for parents regarding internet literacy and online safety • building confidence and resilience to challenge online threats of radicalisation
