ERASMUS PROGRAM • Countries in European Union • Erasmus Scholarships – around 400€ - 500€ per month. • Scholarship & Tuition waiver opportunities by partner institutions. • Applications are submitted through IRO by filling in the online application form. Once you are selected and you confirm your place by delivering related document you will be nominated to partner school by IRO. • Before you go on exchange through Learning Agreement you guarantee academic recognition and credit/grade transfer of your exchange courses. • SU credits are determined on the LA . Once your exchange transcript is received courses are counted based on your LA. • Make an Internship abroad with Erasmus Internship Opportunities (You may get in contact with SU Internship Office for the details.) • Jump on a train & discover the rest of the Europe

EXCHANGE PROGRAM • Countries out side of Europe – Singapore, USA… • Scholarship & Tuition waiver opportunities by partner institutions. • Applications are submitted through IRO by filling in the online application form. Once you are selected and you confirm your place by delivering related document you will be nominated to partner school by IRO. • Before you go on exchange through Learning Agreement you guarantee academic recognition and credit/grade transfer of your exchange courses. • SU credits are determined on the LA . Once your exchange transcript is received courses are counted based on your LA. • Get lost in a new culture far, far away • Try something different – be different!

SUMMER SCHOOLS • Attend Sabancı University’s partners summer schools and take courses during the summer. • Scholarship & Tuition wave opportunities by partner institutions however you may still need to pay full or partial tuition fee. • Conduct application process with partner school directly… • Apply personally! • The courses that you will take on exchange will be counted as ‘T’ grades in the SU system by your faculty. (Your credits will be counted but your grades will not effect your GPA) • Minimum B grade is required • Experience a more diverse atmosphere with students around the world.

  7. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS The applicant must have:  • language proficiency on the language of instruction in the destination country. (some partners require TOEFL or IELTS score, please check it before you apply.) • For the Erasmus Program candidates must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. • For the Exchange Program & Summer Programs, please check the partners website for any specific GPA requirements. • Please make sure you are elligible to go on exchange! • Carefully read the information on partner institutions before you choose your exchange destionation.

APPLICATION PROCESS • APPLICATION PERIOD: December 5 - 30, 2012 • APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 30, 2012 until 00:00 • APPLICATION STEPS: • Online application form: http://erasmus.merlon.com.tr/sabanci/ • Financial Commitment Document: http://iro.sabanciuniv.edu/students/exchange/outgoing/useful-documents Financial commitment document should be delivered us by handno later than December 30, 2012 until 17:00.  • After the placement you will be informed by placement announcement e-mail.

  9. AFTER PLACEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT • Confirmation of Participation Form should be delivered to IRO to confirm your place. Please find this form at http://iro.sabanciuniv.edu/students/exchange/outgoing/useful-documents • Then you will be nominated to the partner institution by IRO. • Partner School Application Procedure and Acceptance Letters should be followed by you IRO will be supporting you through out the process. • Visa application (Visa procedure might take from 4 days to 4 months: Apply in advance!) • Pay extra attention to your Learning Agreements! Learning Agreement is a contract between 3 parties; student , Sabanci University & host institution. • LA’s should be prepared with the support of academic advisor in order to guarantee academic recognition and credit/grade transfer of exchange courses. (Your academic advisor : Burçin Bozkaya) • Travel Health Insurance (Compulsory) • *** There will be another information session which will be conducted by IRO after your placement.
