Chapter 3 Section 3 • Middle Passage- British ships carried slaves • Enslaved Africans- mutiny- revolt • Slavery was legal • SC and GA- “low country”- rice and indigo • Vast majority- population- African Americans • Make crafts, baskets, pottery, played music • VA and MD- slaves- minority of the population • Slaves born in the colonies • Cultivate tobacco
