2.1 Random variables Definition 2.1 Suppose that S is the sample space of random trial, if X is a real-valued function with domain S, i.e. for each eS,there exists an unique X=X(e), then it is called that X a Random vector. Usually , we denote random variable by notation X, Y, Z or , , etc.. For notation convenience, From now on, we denote random variable by r.v.
