We consider our market area to be the following: • Connecticut • Delaware • Illinois • Indiana • Maryland • Massachusetts • Michigan • New Jersey • North Carolina • Ohio 11. Pennsylvania 12. 5. DHF ASSOCIATES, LLC PLAN FOR SUCCESS You are now ready to take your next step. To move forward you will need bid opportunities. We will provide you with these opportunities. To do this you will need a computer with internet connection and email. The following are ways in which you will receive these bid opportunities. DHF will send you a bid information sheet via email. • The bid information sheetwill Tell you: • WHERE the project is located. • WHEN the bid is due. • • WHERE the drawings and specs • can be found:- • 1. Website, link or FTP site • made available by General Contractor. • 2. Or we will email to you.

  6. DHF ASSOCIATES, LLC HOW CAN I DO THE JOB ? DHF will guide you and support you to do the job in the best efficient way, because your success is our success too. All you need is to be:- Accurate. Fast. • STEP 1 • You will receive in an email the job name & number and website link for viewing specs and drawings from the contractor site. At your discretion, the specs and drawings can either be viewed on your computer or printed. • STEP 2 • Upon receipt of plans & specs, the first step is to review the code on the life safety plans. This also provides the fire resistive rating of building & structure. These ratings are hourly for structure (columns) floor & roof construction e.g.1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours. • Note: If you find any differences between plans & specs, the specs will govern.

  7. DHF ASSOCIATES, LLC HOW CAN I DO THE JOB ? (Cont.) STEP 3 Review the specs which provide the type of material to be used with density. Note:- DHF always use Carboline Co. products. So you need to gather this information from the spec: Density in PCF (pounds per cubic feet) Bond Strength (Cohesion / Adhesion) Then you will compare it to Carboline fireproofing products., for Example: 5Gp Cementitious 15PCF 7GPCementitious22PCF (Portland based) 5MDCementitious22PCF (Gypsum based) Note: Sometimes the spec might suggest certain product from another Company, you can always use Carboline equivalent product. To see Carboline List of products please go to their website:- http://www.carboline.com/

  8. DHF ASSOCIATES, LLC HOW CAN I DO THE JOB ? (Cont.) STEP 4 Once the hourly rating and type of material are known, then determine the UL design for that rating, which provides thickness of material to be applied on the structure. Sometimes these UL designs are shown on plans & specs. If they are not shown, you need to go back to Carboline product data sheet and check the approvals table. Generally use “restrained” conditions to determine thickness. Use “unrestrained” conditions only if called for on the plans & specs. The Most competitive design to be used in calculations are as follows: (i) FLOORS: D949 or D788 (only IF the floor deck requires to be fireproofed.) (ii) ROOF STRUCTURE: P741 (iii) WF COLUMNS: Y725 (iv) TUBULAR COLUMNS: X771 If you are not sure which UL design should be used please do not hesitate to contact DHF, we will help.

  9. DHF ASSOCIATES, LLC HOW CAN I DO THE JOB ? (Cont.) STEP 5 Once you determined the UL design for that rating, next step is to determine the thickness of material to be applied on the structure. To do that you need to go to UL Designs online Library, here is their website: http://database.ul.com/cgi-bin/XYV/template/LISEXT/1FRAME/gothernbr.html This site provides charts showing hourly rating and thickness of material to be sprayed either on beams, columns or deck. Use the structural plans to estimate the length & size of the section of joist, beams, columns, area of deck, floor or roof as required. What is the thickness of the concrete floor? How thick is the insulation on the roof deck? Is it normal or light weight concrete? Is there gypsum board on the roof deck as well? Use the information determined above to pick the right and thickness of material to be sprayed for each structural plan.

  10. DHF ASSOCIATES, LLC HOW CAN I DO THE JOB ? (Cont.) • STEP 6 • How TO FIND BOARD FEET FOR SPRAY FIREPROOFING - CEMENTITIOUS:- • From the Plans calculate all your takeoff. Once the size and length of the beam or columns is determined: • see tables of board feet per unit length provided in “Field Application Manual of Carboline” under given size/wt of member & thickness. • Multiply BF/unit by length of member to obtain BF for full length. Repeat procedure for all members and add BF to obtain total. • For joist section, use equivalent beam size with the least weight and repeat the procedure as outlined above. • For floor/roof deck use the following formula: Area of deck X 1.5 X thickness of material= Total BF • Add all BF of beams, columns, joist & deck as • applicable. Divide total BF by 35 to obtain • number of bags of material required for • “Southwest” product 5GP. For 7GP material • divide by 28.

  11. DHF ASSOCIATES, LLC HOW CAN I DO THE JOB ? (Cont.) STEP 7 CHECKLIST ITEMS TO RETURN TO DHF: Once the total number of bags of material required for “carboline” product of is determined, fill the following sheets and return them to DHF: Estimate Notes (Attachment B). Estimate Summary Worksheet for Cementitious (Attachment C-2). On the 15th & 30th day of each month you will receive a Project Status Update sent via Email, showing respective project information; to show whether the job has been awarded or still under review for consideration, etc. Please return these items preferably via EMAIL to dhfassoc@aol.com or FAX to 1-877-886-8959. In conclusion as soon as we are aware of the bid results, we will contact you immediately.
