  2. God knows the hearts of men. • Solomon: “… for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men” (1 Kings 8:39) • JESUS“knew all men” and “knew what was in man” (John 2:24-25).

  3. A voice would clear the way for God. • “A voice is calling, Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.” (Isaiah 40:3) • “For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said, ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ready the way of the LORD, Make His paths straight.’” (Matthew 3:3)

  4. The one God is Lord of lords. • “For the LORD your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.” (Deuteronomy 10:17) • Revelation 17:14
