  1. Chatting and Chat Rooms My Guiding question: Why are chat rooms so popular and how do they influence us? My Areas of Focus: Creative minds

  2. My Goals • My Goals for this project are: • To find out how Chatting influences humans • To find out why chat rooms are so popular • To do a survey about chat rooms • To find out the language of chatting

  3. What are chat rooms? Chat rooms are virtual palces, which means it does not excist in real. The people don‘t sitt face to face, they mostly chat over a distance. Chat rooms are there to communicate with other people all over the world. In chats you communicate with words, but you can also use a web cam to see the other people.

  4. Chat Rooms • Here are some popular chat rooms: • MSN • ICQ • Scype • Habbo Hotel • In most of this chatrooms you have a window for every single chat with another person. In Habbo hotel you have your own room and are represented by a human. You can meet other people from all over the world.

  6. Why are chat rooms so popular??? Chatting is the most used way of communicating to somebody that is far away. You just type in the words and press on enter, its very easy! People don‘t have to stand up and go to the phone, no they can just easily type in the words in the text box. Chat rooms are popular, because it is very easy and not complex. Chat rooms are also popular, because they are on the internet.

  7. How does Chatting influence us? • Chatting influences us by the following things: • People are addicted to chatting and to the internet • You forget the other things because you are consentrated on chatting with your friends • It is fun and you forget the time

  8. Chatting language • When you chat it is to stressfull to write the words out. Here are some examples of chatting language: • Lol = laugh out loud cu = see you • Omg = oh my god sry = sorry • Fyi = for your information np = no problem • bb = bye-bye rip = rest in peace • mb = mail back y? = why • K or kk = ok or ok ok u = you • Sy = see you afk = away from keyboard • Thx = thanks re = returned • Pls = please rotfl = rolling on the floor laughing • Btw = by the way cu2 = see you too

  9. More special effects.... There are also smileys and other special effects that you can use while you chat: Here are some examples of smileys: There are smileys for every feeling and theme. In chats you can also insert smileys that consist of symbols. For example: :P , ;) , :D , :-o , :-* , :-/ ,  ,  , B-) , If you want to write a word or a sentence in bold then pu the word into *. For example: *Hello* = Hello
