  1. Scientific Method Controls and Variables Part 1

  2. Mr. Krabs

  3. Patty Power • Which people are in the control group? • Group B with 50 people with mayonnaise and food coloring for sauce. • What is the independent variable? • Group A with 50 people with new sauce. • What is the dependent variable? • Amount of gas reduced in the 100 customers. • What should Mr. Krabs’ conclusion be? • The new sauce reduces gas production with 30 out of the 50 people reporting fewer problems. • Why do you think 8 people in Group B reported feeling better?

  9. Patrick’s conclusion • The purpose of this experiment was to see if fish that eat food exposed to microwaves will become smarter and would be able to swim through a maze faster. Patrick’s hypothesis is correct. Fish 2 in the special group decreased his maze time by 34 seconds. Fish 2 in the regular food group decreased his maze time by 15 seconds. Special food fish had a 77 second decrease in speed overall. Regular food fish had a 33 second decrease in speed overall.
