  2. Venture Introduction • Business Innovation Technologies Inc. is located on 3950 Fourteenth Ave Suite # 309 Markham, ON. L3R0A9. • The company sells accounting solutions based Simply Accounting products as well as QuickBooksPro accounting solution. • The product offering designed are for three types of accounting solutions • - Basic -> General accounting needs GL, AP, AR • - Professional –GL, AR, AP, Inventory Control, Order Entry • - Enterprise – includes all of the modules in the Professional version in addition it offers Job Costing and Small Manufacturing Process control.

  3. The Team • The team is comprised of five people, Nicole Teplan, Omar Mohammed, Mr. ZoltanTeplan, Peter A. Miller and RonaldSau Yan Tsio. • Nicole and I (Omar Mohammed) are the two students in the group who are working together on the venture practicum. We are both responsible for all of the following and previous assignments related to the practicum, that means working on the overview, the plan and agreement, both status reports and this final report. We worked side by side and scheduled times and places of where we can meet to work on the project. We came up with the strategy of updating the company’s website and getting them involved in social media websites. • Mr. ZoltanTeplan is the entrepreneur that we are shadowing and is Nicole Teplan’s father and the owner of the business. We came to Mr. Teplan telling him of our idea and agreed to accept the plan. He funded the budget for the project and was there any time we may have had questions or needed advice. • Peter A. Miller is our professor for the EBM660AA class. Mr. Miller helped guide us anytime we had any questions that needed answering, he told us what to do but also how to do it right and what he was looking for in our assignments. • SauYan Ronald Tisois our student advisor. He helped us with ideas and suggestions on how we can go about our plans for the venture practicum.

  4. The Activities • Non-class hours-timeline schedule: Tuesday: 12-5pm, Thursday: 12-5pm, Friday: 12-5pm. • These times will be used for all and or any necessary tasks that range from shadowing activities, assignment completions and managing the website project with 360PSG who are the lead website designers we hired to take on the task of updating the company’s website.

  5. Purpose • The purpose of this project is to achieve an increase in sales by 5%. • Remodeling the old company website to a more up to date version equipped with some of the most widely used social media websites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to help customers and employees spread the news and information of what and who this company is and what they can offer. We believe that through this plan we can try and stay ahead of the curve and provide all the necessary and easily available information that potential customers are looking for, out of this business.

  6. End Product • We have completed the maintenance and updating of the website and getting the company in all of the necessary social media websites required. • The website designed by 360PSG. We have also decided to forego on the brochure document seeing that we feel that it is unnecessary for now, feeling that we want to keep the current company brochure the way it is.

  7. Conclusion • In the end we did not achieve our goal of increasing sales by 5% for the company in the given time line; sales have stayed moderately the same. But we believe that we still succeeded in many different ways. We got to learn and experience something that we both have never really done before, and gained real work skills for future endeavours and jobs. We feel that we did a great job for the company, their new website looks very up to date, professional and is now equipped with the most used and available social media websites. We believe that the reason we did not see a change in sales is because that we need to give it more time, so that other business’s and customers can know that this new website is out there and available, then in time we may start to see an increase in sales being generated because of the website. Over all this was an enriching experience that we have gained much knowledge and skill from.
