Methods • The Pew Global Attitudes survey interviewed over 38,000 people in 44 nations in Summer 2002 and an additional 16,000 in 20 countries in May 2003. • The questionnaire was translated into more than 70 languages and dialects. • Most interviews were conducted face-to-face in the respondent’s home. • Some questions could not be asked in China, Vietnam, and Egypt. But question wordings were not altered in any country because of official pressure.
