  3. Commissioning & ESPCs • Value Added for Customer and ESCO • Verifies that the installation/operation meets customer Need (Design Intent) • Improves customer confidence & term commitment • Reduces the 1st year jitters 2

  5. Commissioning • Commissioning is defined as the process of ensuring that the systems are designed, installed, functionally tested and capable of being operated and maintained to perform in conformity with the design intent. • ECM Operational Performance to Design Intent 4

  6. Performance Testing • Tests that are performed in-situ or at the manufacturer’s to ensure that a specific piece of equipment operates to manufactures specifications - installation design intent requirements. 5

  7. Functional Performance Tests • Item has been installed and function according to design + MUCH MORE! • Usually includes pre functional testing • point to point checkout (wiring/piping) • Calibration and Installation 6

  8. Acceptance Tests • Acceptance tests are tests that are performed on specific equipment that does not necessarily require a commissioning plan. (Wide Variation) • Does the light switch operate the lights? 7

ESPC Report Clarification • M&V Plan - Included with final proposal - ECM Savings Verification Methodology • Post Installation Verification Report - Completed as part of the project acceptance after Cx • Annual M&V Reconciliation Report - Performed annual as required by contract (Show the Customer)

  10. Cx Team Activities - For review by M&V Team • Update of ESPC Project Management Plan - Cx additions • Add Cx/Design Intent Focus • IP Kickoff Meeting • DES Kickoff Meeting • Project Acceptance Checklist (with Input from ESCOs) • Complete Definition Development
