Impressive Progress and Key Topics from AUW Sensor Meeting

At the recent AUW meeting, attendees were pleased with our significant advancements in sensor probing and irradiation techniques, as well as the propagation of our 130 nm jigging. Key discussion points included sensor specifications, evaluation of gain/noise for ABC130, plans for receiving new ABC130 units in 6-8 weeks, probing techniques, hybrid and module developments, and increased interest in epoxy studies under acceleration/UV conditions. We also explored the need for standardized designs and evaluation protocols for barrel and EC hybrids and modules.

Short Outcomes from AUW • People were hugely impressed with our progress • In addition to progressing the program (i.e. sensor probing/irradiations, propagation of 130 nm jigging,..), a few special topics of interest affecting us came up: • Sensor specs (follow up at next sensor meeting) • ABC130 evaluation of gain/noise (next meeting, https://indico.cern.ch/event/314466/) • Plans for reception of new ABC130 (in 6-8 weeks) • Probing • Hybrids/modules • Greater interest in further epoxy studies (accel./UV) • Common design for barrel/EC hybrids, modules, frames, test cards,… • Common evaluation protocols (electrical/mechanical)
