  2. Common Theme for Three Tracks: Systemic Change • Integrated • Coherent • Harmonious • Linked • Self-sustaining

LHIP: CONGREGATIONAL EDUCATION • New educational models embedding adult, family, and children’s learning into context of Shabbat and chagim • Significantly ramping up parental involvement (at least twice/month on Shabbat/chagim) • Connecting different demographic groups • Linking pillars of Jewish practice (Torah/Avodah/ Gemilut Hasadim)

LHIP: CONGREGATIONAL EDUCATION Three primary Shabbat/holiday models: • Intergenerational/whole family havurot: Small clusters of families, sometimes including other non-parent adults to mentors younger families. • Grade-based Shabbat/holiday family ed: Shifting school from Sundays to Shabbat and/or holidays. • Congregation-wide: engaging the whole synagogue in intergenerational learning on a regular basis – may include a grade-based family education aspect.

  5. LHIP: CONGREGATIONAL EDUCATION Grants: • Up to $30,000 for first year; eligible to apply for up to $30,000/year for up to three additional years, one year at a time. Application process: • Letter of Intent due: Wed. December 2 • Invitations for full proposals: Thurs. Jan. 7 • Full proposals due: Thurs. February 4 • Selections announced: Wed. March 10

LHIP: MUSIC/ISRAEL ENGAGEMENT Models which integrate music or Israel awareness/engagement in a unifying way throughout the congregational “system:” • Impact and integrate as many demographic groups as possible • Impact and integrate three pillars of Jewish practice (Torah/Avodah/Gemilut Hasadim)

  7. LHIP: MUSIC/ISRAEL ENGAGEMENT Grants: • Up to $25,000 for first year; eligible to apply for up to $25,000/year for up to two additional years, one year at a time. Application process: • Proposals due: Tues. January 19 • Selections announced: Wed. March 10

Legacy Heritage Innovation Project Key criteria: Readiness/capacity: Specific evidence of “buy-in” from leadership and impacted congregants (broad participation in proposal formulation, focus groups, surveys, etc.) Sustainability: Grant resources invested on building internal congregational capacity (training for staff/lay leaders, curriculum development, long-term resources)
