  6. MP3. Passes Two types Regular: (Liberty) Starts after normal working hours on a given day and stops at the beginning of normal working hours on the next working day. Special: Starts after normal working hours on a given day and will not exceed a specific time limit of either three or four days. 3-Day: Must contain at least one duty day 4-Day: Must include two consecutive non-duty days

MP 4: Unauthorized Absence AFI 36-2911: Absent Without Authority (AWA)— “The status of a member absent from the assigned unit, organization, or other place of duty where the member is required to be.” Unauthorized Absence is then defined, by the term Absent Without Authority, as any Airman who is not at the place of duty he/she is required to be at, which is not only his/her work place but also scheduled training, movements or appointments as well.

  8. MP 5: Classifications • For an Unauthorized Absence of less than 24 hours classification is “failure to go”. • For an Unauthorized Absence of greater than 24 hours, but less than 30 days classification is AWOL. (Note: member must be in long term Title 10 status) • For an Unauthorized Absence of greater than 30 days classification is Deserter. (Note: member must be in long term Title 10 status)
