  2. George Washington • Born on February 22, 1732-1799 • He had a wife named Martha Dandridge Custis Washington and he had two step-children. • His role in the revolutionary war was that he was commander of the continental army. • He is a patriot

  3. John Paul Jones • Born July 6, 1747-July 18, 1792 • His role in the revolutionary war was that he was a naval officer that began raiding the British. In 1779 the Bonhomme Richard(named after Franklin’s Poor Richards Almanack) defeated the British warship Serapis • Patriot

  4. Thomas Jefferson • Born on April 13, 1743 through July 4, 1826 • His wife’s name was Martha Wayles Skelton • They had six children • His role in the Revolutionary War is he was one of the authors of the Declaration of Independence • Thomas Jefferson was a Patriot

Thomas Paine • Born on January 29, 1737 through June 8, 1809 • His first wife died • He was legally separated from his second wife • He had no children • He wrote a short book called ‘Common Sense’ which got some of the many neutralists and some of the loyalists to join the Patriot side. Without the extra support America may have not become what it is today.
