Dr. Jane Cooke Wright • Jane was born in New York City November of 1919. • She is the oldest daughter of the late Dr. Louis Tompkins Wright. • The most important thing Jane did was that she tried to find a cure for cancer. • She also distinguished herself to a cancer researcher, specifically investigating chemotherapies.

  3. Jane’s Accomplishments • 1942,New York Medical School granted her a four- year scholarship. • 1955 Jane was hired to the NY University Center to direct its Cancer Chemotherapy research department and teach surgery. • 1961,The University promoted her the rank of adjunct professor in the department of surgery. • 1971, she became the first woman president of the New York Cancer Society.
