Background of Gyan Abhiyan 2012 • Gyan Abhiyan is an yearly event organized by Saral Services in Nalanda district of Bihar in Oct-Nov. • Gyan Abhiyan 2011 covered 50 schools in 10 days in 4 Blocks of Nalanda to build awareness on the need for quality education. • We met children, parents, teachers of both government and private schools and also interacted with the community leaders. • Nalanda Nikhar, a forum of teachers, parents and community members was formed after the Gyan Abhiyan 2011 to work on Quality Education in Nalanda.
