Starter Activity (5 minutes) • Go to www.MrHallICT.com • Navigate to the ‘Year 8’ home page • Download and open the three quizzes. • Get pen and paper. • Write down 10 things you will need to do to make your own quiz. Consider: Formatting (fill cell, border, angle text) Formulae (add, subtract, SUM?) Fonts (wingdings?)

Learning objectives: • List criteria and ideas for an interactive quiz • Appreciate what is required when creating an interactive quiz model • Implement the design of an interactive quiz using MS Excel Class rules: • Don’t talk over others • Stop talking when I’m talking • If you talk, it should be about the work • No chewing gum!

  3. Project Requirements Why is it important to understand the requirements of a project? • You might not be the ‘ideas man’ • You must understand the target audience • You need to know what functionality is needed • You won’t know if your project is a success!

  4. Our project Interactive Quiz Model You should have completed your Project Proposal over Easter You need to create an interactive quiz with a minimum of 9 questions We will be using this website to help us: www.MrHallICT.com Add this to your bookmarks

  5. Task #1 (15 minutes) • Open Microsoft Word • Write out your 9 (or more) questions for your interactive quiz • Each question should have three multiple choice answers, one of which is correct.

  7. Task #2 (20 minutes) • Go to www.MrHallICT.com • Go to the “Designing the quiz” page • Use this webpage to help you create the design for your interactive quiz. • Layout • Questions • Images • Colours • Fonts

  8. Homework Finish of the design of your quiz for next week. • Save As (.xls recommended) • Email your Excel file to yourself / home
