RTO: 41488 CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry This qualification provides you with trade skills to become a carpenter, subcontract/contract carpenter, covering work in residential and commercial applications. Occupational titles may include: • Carpenter • Carpenter and joiner. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work. The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context. Who is the course for: CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry is for new and existing workers who are currently employed in a relevant position and wanting to work toward completing the qualification. Entry Requirements: There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Course duration: Duration is dependent on your knowledge, skills and experience levels. Learners who have a lot of relevant prior experience may have the ability to complete the qualification in a shorter timeframe. However, those who are new to the profession will often take a longer time frame to complete and will be supported by our team throughout their journey. To achieve a reasonable rate of progression and completion within the expected duration is 30 months; however, students can take up to 4 years to complete. The amount of training allocated for this qualification is based on the individual knowledge, skill and experience of each learner. Course cost: $15,000 Payment plan: 12 monthly payments per year of $1250 over 1 year Training methods: Delivery is through a combination of face to face, onsite training in a supervised workplace. Learners are also required to undertake self-paced learning. Note: (before entering a construction site, a student must hold a white card). Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement) Amount of Training: Each month and over the anticipated duration of the course, the following amount of training will occur: • In workplace under supervision: 150 hours • Trainer visit • Self-paced 3 hours 3 hours These hours are flexible according to the needs of the learner. Assessment: This course is delivered through on-site assessment where our assessors come and visit you on your job site. Some units of competency require written theory assessments as well. There is opportunity for reassessment and appeal, which can be found in the Student Handbook (refer website) Location: Onsite in the workplace and at RTO facilities for face to face classes. Outcome: Upon successful completion of this training product, you will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification in CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry. Previous experience: What is a recognition assessment? Recognition assessment is a process that allows you to attain a nationally-recognised qualification or statement/s of attainment, based on skills and knowledge gained through previous experience, either formal training or informal (i.e. on the job) learning. This is called Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL cost: $300 administration fee, plus $150 per unit assessment fee. Gap fees for training are charged at $490 per unit Credit Transfer: Have you completed any of the below units? If so, Noble Training recognises all AQF qualifications and Statement of Attainments issued by other Registered Training Organisations. Please speak with your trainer about the RPL process prior to enrolment. Learning Support: We support many learning needs. Reasonable adjustments can be made to assist you in achieving a competent result where learning difficulties may be present. For students needing additional Language, Literacy and Numeracy support, we recommend Fruition Tuition – contact details are www.fruition.com.au, or contact no. 1300 884 846. All students will require following items: Personal protective equipment (PPE): • protective eyewear: Clear safety glasses, (tinted or sunglasses not acceptable). These must conform to the Australian Standard AS 1336 or 1337. • protective footwear – Safety Toe, Leather Upper, non-slip safety footwear must be worn. They must comply with AS2210 and be in good condition. • protective clothing – Sleeved, 100% cotton work wear or employer supplied uniform must be worn always. Note: Additional specialist protective clothing/Personal Protective Equipment may be required for certain activities. This will be identified by Safety Signage and instruction from your employer and/or trainer. Students failing to meet these minimum standards of dress will not be permitted.
