  4. What is Smart Futures? What is Smart Futures? Smart Futures is a series of experiences designed to unlock career opportunities for ambitious and motivated Year 12 students • Opportunity to learn key skills • Mentor throughout Year 13 • 3 weeks of paid work experience • Unlock career opportunities in business • A fun and valuable experience • Involvement from all service lines at EY • Looks great on your CV • Make new friends! The Smart Futures journey • The Smart Futures programme runs for 10 months starting with a 3 week paid work experience over the summer • As well as the 3 weeks in an EY office, you will be given a mentor who will provide support and guidance to you throughout Year 13, helping you to plan and secure the career path of your choice • Alumni events throughout Year 13 to reconnect with EY and your new friends Mentor in Year 13 Work Experience Your Future Graduation Event Induction Day EY Smart Futures 2014

Meet David! • David took part in Smart Futures in 2012 • He was then inspired to apply to the EY School Leaver programme • He has been working in our Corporate Finance team since September 2013 “The Smart Futures programme changed my outlook on the routes available to start a career in business” “It was genuinely the best work experience I ever had” EY Smart Futures 2014

Meet Shifa! • Shifa took part in Smart Futures in 2013 • Her experience encouraged her to apply to the EY Scholarship programme • She has applied to Oxford University to study Economics and Management “Smart Futures was immensely insightful and made it apparent to me that a career in business was accessible to students my age” “The skills I took away have been immensely applicable in my everyday life” EY Smart Futures 2014

  9. Who is Smart Futures for? Smart Futures is aimed at high flying Year 12 students who: • Are in receipt of free schools meals and/or will be the first in their immediate family to consider going to university • Have Grade B or above in GCSE Maths and English Language • Are predicted a minimum of 300 UCAS points* (5B’s at Higher or equivalent) • Are highly motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn • May not otherwise experience or have access to the world of business *students studying any combination of A Level subject may apply EY Smart Futures 2014
