Objective • Objectives • To study the various areas of Training and development.  • To know how the new and existing employees perceive the training and Development in organization.  • To determine the major factors influencing the effectiveness of Training and development.  • To investigate the effectiveness current training and development program by analyzing each factor contributing to its effectiveness. • To find out the problems involved in measuring the training and Development / Training effectiveness and making suggestions to improve it

Research Methodology • PRIMARY DATA: • Queries asked to Trainers. • Visited the Training & Development department of the company. • Data collected from Trainees. • SECONDARY DATA: • Data collected from the Internet. • Data collected from co journal. • Information collected from companies and dealers outlet. • Data collected from company Website.

  5. Findings During the project major findings are as follows:- • Lack of Training awareness was observed. • Limited & less Budget for training facility. • Lack of motivations. • Trainers lack in creating interest in trainees. • Long-Term schedule leaded to Boredome.

Company Profile • Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd was established in 1992 as a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU).Commencing operations in 1994, Orchid has achieved amazing and consistent growth, quantitatively and qualitatively to emerge among the Top-15 companies in the Indian pharmaceutical industry in a short span of fourteen years of operations. Orchid employees over 3700 people, of which over 600 are scientists, technologists and other professionals. • Orchid is today a globally recognized, integrated pharmaceutical company with core competencies in the development and manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and Finished Dosage Forms as well as in drug discovery. .

BENEFITS OF TRAINING:- • Improve the job knowledge and skills at all levels of the organization . • Improve the moral of the workforce. • Helps people identify with organizational goal. • Helps create better corporate image. • Aid in organizational development. • Learns from the trainee. • Aids in understanding and carrying out organizational policies. • Organization gets more effective in decision making and problem solving. • Aids in developing leadership skill, motivation , better attitudes and other. aspects that successful workers and managers usually display . • Aids in increasing productivity and/ or quality of work .

Suggestion • Trainers awareness towards training is required.. • The training period should be short. • Trainees should be sort as per their needs. • Monetary & non-monetary motivations should be included. • Prior training time-table should be given to the trainees. • Periodic breaks should be given during training programmes for refreshment. • Focus should be more on the on-job training rather than off- job training

Conclusion • If the orchid is one side of the coin, so another side is quality and customer satisfaction, which is hold by the orchid employees which are self motivated and inspired to give their excellence performance towards the success in global competition. • I have done this project in a very healthy atmosphere, where everyone co-operate me to do my project work in a systematic and complete manner. This training has given me the knowledge about various functions of HR, and one of the most functions is “Training and Development.” • Hence, it can be said that Training & Development can help in achieving organizational goals & objectives in effective manner . • This project helps to identify the various methods of, training and development used by the organization.
