  9. Education • Education is an important factor because someone with a higher educational level has the opportunity to get a better job and a higher social rank, thus leading to a higher socioeconomic status, which is related to a longer and healthier life.

  10. ; Health Indices • The study of Parkchester history, demography, socio-economic status are factors that affect the health of the community. • The health indices include data on mortality, morbidity, health of infants and ambulatory care. • The purpose of examining these data is to get a sense of the most important health concerns in the community, that will give insight on the proper health care programs that are needed.

  11. Age Adjusted Death • The age-adjusted death rates for the leading causes can then be compared to a standard or a goal that is set out by Healthy People 2010 (HP2010). • Healthy People 2010 is a series of objectives put together to promote the development of programs to improve health in communities. The goals of HP2010 include increasing life expectancy, improving the quality of life, and eliminating health disparities among different groups within a population. • The use of Healthy People 2010 is important because it provides a set of standards that can be used to assess the community’s health.
