  2. Presidents • There are 5 countries which we have to learn whose leader’s title is president. • To remember these countries we use the acronym CRUMI

  4. Current CRUMI Presidents • China = Hu Jintao • Russia = Demetry Medvedev • USA = Barack Obama • Mexico = Felipe Calderon • India = Pratibha Patil

  5. Former CRUMI Presidents • China = Hu Jintao • Russia = Vladimir Putin • USA = George W. Bush • Mexico = Vicente Fox • India = Abdul Kalam

  6. Remembering the CRUMI Presidents • Use your fingers to say the five countries. • Now let’s come up with a phrase to remember the president’s names

  7. Prime Ministers • There are 3 countries which we have to learn whose leader’s title is prime minister. • To remember these countries we use the acronym UCI (pronounced like Yucky)

  8. UCI Prime Ministers • U = United Kingdom • C = Canada • I = India

  9. Current UCI Prime Ministers • U.K. – David Cameron • Canada – Stephen Harper • India – Manmohan Singh

  10. Remembering the UCI Prime Ministers • When David Cameron was playing his Harp and Singing it sounded Yucky!

  11. Now let’s take a look at the CRUMI Presidents.

  12. Hu Jintao - China Current President of China Took office November 15, 2002

  13. Dmitry Medvedev - Russia President of Russia Began in May 2008

  14. Barack Obama – United States • Became the first African American President in the US. • Inaugurated in 2009 as the 44th President.

  15. Felipe Calderon - Mexico Current President of Mexico Took office December 1, 2006

  16. Pratibha Patil - India Current President of India took office in 2007 The first woman to be elected president in India

  17. Now let’s take a look at the UCI Prime Ministers.

  18. David Cameron - UK Current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Assumed office May 10, 2010

  19. Stephen Harper - Canada Current Prime Minister of Canada Assumed office February 6, 2006

  20. Manmohan Singh - India • Current Prime Minister of India. • Took office in 2004 and re-elected in 2009

  21. What about Vladimir Putin? • If he is the Prime Minister of Russia why do we not need to remember him? • The truth is we do have to learn him, but in Russia they do not use the term Prime Minister, they call him the Premier.
