  2. Being a magical celebration, Romanian people as well as everybody, celebrate it with a lot of joy and happiness. They gather around with all the members of the family and have a special dinner. Like any other special celebration, a special dinner needs special food. • For Christmas, in Romania, we cook turkey or pork. • On 20th December there is a celebration of St Ignat. It’s the day when pigs or turkeys are sacrificed according to an ancient ritual.

  4. PIFTIE – pig or turkey jelly

  5. CARNATI – pig sausages

  6. CIORBA DE BURTA - borsch

  7. TOBA

  8. COZONAC – a special cake

  9. Home made sour cherry brandy

  10. Boiled red wine with sugar and cinnamon
