Looking Ahead • New interactive application with more imagery • New contract by 2006 • More flexibility in coverage areas • Not tied to county & urban area as base unit • Continue obtaining densified terrain data • Expanded use of 4-band digital cameras • Diversified products in repeat areas • Changing priorities NYS OCSCIC

  18. Funding? • No fixed funding for NYSDOP • Three different funding sources in 3 years • Stiff competition for funds Feedback? NYS OCSCIC

Funding Issues • Wish to establish a recurring ortho budget item in CSCIC base budget – first year is hardest • Need to demonstrate strong support for program to DOB: • Cost savings from use of imagery • Regulatory requirements • Costs of alternatives • Need for timely, up-to-date orthos NYS OCSCIC

  20. Funding – continued • Will consider any/all possible funding sources • DHS – ODP grants to states (Indiana) • Byrne • Contributions from USGS, USDA, etc. • E-911 NYS OCSCIC

  21. How can you help? • Letters of support • From highest level possible • Describe uses of imagery, esp. regulatory, vital (lifesaving, etc), cost savings, need for updates, etc • Anecdotal evidence • How widely is imagery redistributed • Other uses you’re aware of NYS OCSCIC
