  1. What is Wheels 2 Work? • Subsidised motorcycle loan scheme. • Social exclusion and rural isolation. • Job Centre Plus, Social Services, Work Programme providers etc. • Provide the means to access opportunities all over Devon.

  2. Brief history of W2W in Devon • Set up in 2001 with 10 scooters. • Devon schemes merged in 2006. • Last year we delivered 303 loans. • Now we are working to secure our future.

  3. What do we do? • We currently have around 140 motorcycle and scooters. • Covering the whole County, an area of 2,700 square miles. • DW2W employs 8 local people.

  4. Our base in Halwill Junction • We have a dedicated staff team who work hard to support both the business and our beneficiaries. • Our mobile workshops enable us to access the whole county.

  5. Services to the general public We operate a Motorcycle MOT facility which is open to the public. Workshop maintains, services and repairs motorcycles on a commercial basis. Open six days each week during the motorcycle season.

  6. Ebay Sales • We dismantle end of line machines and sell reusable components on Ebay. • Our Ebay shop also sells motorcycles and scooters throughout the UK.

  7. Reducing fixed costs • Workload scheduling. • Stringent maintenance programme. • Stock projections result in lower prices. • Maintain all our own vehicles. • Group buying initiatives, co-op approach.

  8. Grants versus earned income • 2006 fully funded. • We developed a Social Enterprise for W2W. • We have shifted the financial balance.

  9. Contributory Income • Loan fee income is secure and helps to promote responsible use of our machines. • Sustainable income. • This year we aim to top £100,000 income in loan fees.

  10. Commercial Development • Our workshops are capturing a growing market share. • Consultancy opportunities • Now looking for growth opportunities.

  11. Five year financial projections • Less reliant on grants. • More emphasis on commercial trading. • Grow the business.
