Enhancing Winter Resilience: Recruitment of Additional Porters and New Snow Management Strategies

The Estates and Facilities Department is implementing measures to tackle winter pressures by recruiting additional porters and developing a comprehensive snow plan. This plan includes clearly defined trigger points for snow management, the establishment of a large new salt compound, and the installation of 10 additional grit bins across key locations. To enhance the mobility and efficiency of winter services, we are also deploying mobile gritting units for security and equipping staff with dry wheelie bins for effective salt distribution.
