  2. The Beginning The King Achashveyrosh of Persia had Queen called Vashti. She was very beautiful so he wanted to show her beauty. When he asked he to appear at a party, she refused. Furious, the King hanged his wife for refusing.

  3. The Decision Meanwhile, a young woman had been growing up in Persia. She was called Esther. She was the most beautiful so he picked her. Esther was thrilled but she was a Jew so he hid it from him.

  4. The Jews The Jews had lived in Israel but their homeland was invaded so they were pushed out. Esther’s Uncle, Mordecai, was the leader of the Jews, who were exiled in Persia.

  5. The Decree Haman, the King’s advisor, had been promoted to the Prime minster. He thought everyone should bow to him when he came past but Mordecai disagreed. So he put a decree that every Jew should be killed. Esther heard and decided to talk to the king about it.

  6. The plot She was afraid though. She fasted for three days and prayed for three days. She was ready. She invited the two for a banquet two nights in a row.

  7. The Attempt Haman attempted to kill Mordecai. He ordered for gallows to be built for him to be hanged.

  8. The ending Esther revealed she was a Jew. She then told him about Haman trying to kill Mordecai and instead he was hanged.
