  2. Introduction The Guide to Self Funding is a CD-ROM programme designed to support parishes which are interested in running their own funding programmes. The CD-ROM will provide you with a useful tool to guiding you through a Funding Programme. Please remember that if you choose to follow a do it yourself programme, we are still here to help you in every way that we can.

  3. A Message from the Bishop of Lincoln God’s generosity to us is as old as Creation itself, and giving back to God is a timeless element in our response to God’s love. Yet, however well-established our beliefs and values may be, they need all the benefits of modern means of communication to get the message across. So I gladly commend this CD-ROM as an important next step in communicating the message of stewardship and planned-giving across this great Diocese of Lincoln. There is now a massive amount of evidence to show that when people are presented with the facts about giving, and are challenged to respond generously, then the results can be very dramatic.  This CD will be a vital tool in the hands of local Churches anxious to secure their financial future – and to do so in ways which are truthful, challenging and fun. May I thank all of you for your robust commitment to furthering the Gospel message in this way, and I pray God’s Blessing on all your efforts now and in the years to come.

  4. Programme Timeline The programme is divided into three phases: Ready This is the period of decision making Steady Time Required: (4 months) This is the period of preparation Go Time Required: (7 weeks) This is the period of implementation.
