  2. Suggestions and Warnings • Read for detail and comprehension • Should be able to complete within normal laboratory period. • Make sure you program unused pins as tri-state inputs or you may burnout EPM7128S device on PLDT-2.

  3. Select Assign Device • Create Project using wizard first • Then for unused pins to be tri-state inputs

  4. Select Device & Pin Options

  5. Unused Pins – Input, Tri-State • Select Unused Pin Tab • Then Reserve all unused pin as inputs, tri-stated. • Finally select OK.

  6. Okay +5 VDC Pull-up Resistor EPM7128S At 5 VDC Output, Driving “1”

  7. Ouch– Output Driver Burns Out +5 VDC Output Burns Out • EPM7128S pulling up to +5VDC • Switch pulling down to ground EPM7128S Output, Driving “1” Switch Closed

  8. Okay– Output Driver Disabled +5 VDC Input Tri-State (Hi-Z) EPM7128S Switch Closed Input, Floating

  9. Okay– Output Driver Disabled +5 VDC Input Tri-State (Hi-Z) EPM7128S Switch Open Input, Floating
