Three methods of correcting a run-on: ● A period and capital letter-Separate the independent clauses into individual sentences with a period, or question mark or exclamation point, if required. ● Semicolon-Separate the independent clauses with a semicolon if their ideas are closely related. ● A comma and a joining word-Separate the independent clauses with a comma and a coordinating conjunction (and, but, or, so, for, yet).
