  4. Effective meetings • Effective meetings really boil down to three things: • They achieve the meeting’s objective. • They take up a minimum amount of time. • They leave participants feeling that a sensible process has been followed.

How to hold effective meetings • Don't call a meeting when an email will do • Always have an agenda • Invite the right people i.e. know the purpose of your meeting • Make people show up on time • Get everyone talking • Use meetings to argue • Record your decisions, keep accurate minutes • Stick to your agenda, and end on time
