  2. The People • Population: 883,125 people • Languages: English, Bau Fijian, and Fiji Hindi. • Age/Life Span: 69 years

  3. Geography • Capital: Suva • Major Oceans/rivers/lakes: Ba River, Navua River, and Wailevu River. • Oceans that border: Pacific Ocean. • Climate: Warm most of the year, minimum chance of extremes.

  4. Culture • Religions: Christian, Methodist, Hindu, Islam, and Sikhism • Holidays: They have many holidays, but they celebrate normal holidays we have here in America. • Dress: They dress very modern and lightly, because of the warm climate. • Food: Most of the food in Fiji is all fresh, because it is locally grown.

  5. Economy • Money: One Fijian dollar is made of one hundred cents. (Example: F$5 means $5) • Imports: Trade. • Exports: sugar, garments, gold, fish, and mineral water.

  6. Government • Type of government: Parliamentary democracy. • Current leader: RatuEpeliNailatikau

  7. Landmarks • Name: Pacific Harbour • Where: Edge of VitiLevu. • Why: Fijians love art. In Pacific Harbour, they can buy and sell art in a place called Art Village.

  8. My Interests • I think that Fijian food looks so amazing. It looks so fresh and the people in Fiji adore the food. The fish and chickens are locally caught, the greens and fruit are all grown, and it’s all good quality food. The food is so unique, and the Fijians spice it up with many different spices, sauces and even fruit juice!
