Implementing PBIS in CUSD: Overcoming Barriers and Achieving Success

This narrative details the journey of a site administrator in CUSD, who faced significant behavioral and climate challenges at her school. Collaborating with the Superintendent, they explored supports that led to the adoption of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). It delineates initial barriers such as mindset and administrative changes, and highlights successes through structured training, team development, and data-driven decision-making. The transition to PBIS has fostered a supportive environment, with measurable improvements in student behavior and school climate.
