Counter-Piracy Essentials • Prior to Transit • Register at EU’s MSCHOA website: http://www.mschoa.org • Contact UKMTO or MARLO for additional guidance • For Transit of High Risk Areas • If your vessel speed is 10-18 knots, use the Gulf of Aden Group Transits • For vessels faster than 18 knots, transit between 47ºE and 49 ºE during the hours of darkness • For vessels slower than 10 knots, contact UKMTO for routing guidance • Send position reports to UKMTO at ukmto@eim.ae daily at noon • In Case of Emergency • UKMTO (primary): +971 50 552 3215 • MARLO: +973 3940 1395 • Do not stop, naval assistance in the Gulf of Aden takes at least 30 min
