  2. Warm Electronics Overview Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  3. Built Standard of WE Items I Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  4. Built Standard of WE Items II PACS AVM WE integrated on SVM Panel Simulator at Astrium (QM1 BOLC ext. PSU not shown) Status: 21.12.2004 Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  5. Thermal Qualification Status • AVM / STM WE Unit testing - STM BOLC: TV test for design validation : OK - BOLC PSU sub-unit thermally tested : OK - As agreed, no tests were done with other units • CQM / AVM ILT - No testswere foreseen and done • QM / PFM WE Units - Simulations and Analysis done for all units - Full qualification programs are currently ongoing - First results for QM SPU available Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  6. Electrical Interface Qualification Status : AVM • AVM WE Unit testing by sub-contractor - No qualification tests foreseen on sub-contractor level for delivered units - no VCD available as no test foreseen • AVM WE Unit testing by MPE - Inrush current measurements for DPU, SPU : compliant - Spectrometer Groundings tested during ILT - ICC data analysis still missing for final decisions Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  7. Electrical Interface Qualification Status : QM / PFM • QM WE Units testing - Full applicable testing on sub-unit level contractually agreed - First results for QM SPU available : NCRs for Bonding R and PROM contents - Nothing available yet for other units - Qualification Test Programs are ongoing - NA for WIH • PFM WE Units testing - Full applicable testing on sub-unit level contractually agreed - All testing necessary and required prior to delivery to MPE - PFM WE Units should not be accepted without completed Test Reports Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  8. Electrical Interface Qualification Status : Power • Power Budget Is DECMEC Power Consumption final? Possible changes due to Heater / Flasher Implementation. Slight Increase of SPU Power. CR released 12.01.2005 Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  9. EMC / ESD Qualification Status : AVM • AVM WE Unit testing - No tests conducted on sub-contractor level for delivered units of DPU, SPU, DECMEC and BOLC, NA for WIH • CQM / AVM ILT - Full applicable test program done, given in EMC test specification PACS- ME-PL-015, Issue 1.2 - As run Test procedure PACS-ME-PL-015, Issue 1.2 available via CR-0020v2 - EMC Draft Test Report available, ICC Data analysis still missing - Some NCRs, RfW raised or re-issued - ESD testing not done (high risk) - Test and Compliance Matrix : see next transparency (extract of available Draft Test Report, PACS-ME-TR-038, chapter 3) Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  10. EMC / ESD Qualification Status : AVM Matrix Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  11. EMC / ESD Qualification Status : EQM /QM • EQM IST Testing - Only RS tests foreseen, acc. HP-2-ASED-PL-0037 - ESD testing omission still under discussion and not agreed • QM WE Units testing - ALL QM models are NOT deliverable items - Full applicable testing on sub-unit level contractually agreed and expected - First results for QM SPU available, NCRs for RE-E - Nothing available yet for other units - NA for WIH Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  12. EMC / ESD Qualification Status : PFM • PFM WE Units testing - Full applicable testing on sub-unit level contractually agreed and expected • PFM ILT EMC testing - full applicable testing acc. IID-A, as reflected in PACS-ME-PL-015 with exceptions for ESD and RE/RS-E/H-Field testing • PFM IST EMC testing - Only CE tests foreseen, acc. HP-2-ASED-PL-0037 Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  13. Electrical Design Status : Plans for FM • DPU AVM to DPU CFM / PFM • Changed PL I/F Board, new design • BOLC QM1 to BOLC QM2 / PFM - Changed Bandwidth (and other) of Read-out electronics - Several Changes in digital electronics - New PCB designs • DECMEC AVM to DECMEC QM / PFM - Several changes during and after ILT necessary to provide functionality and performance • SPU AVM to SPU QM / PFM - no changes (as far as reported) Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  14. Critical Qualification Items I • WIMA MKS-2 capacitors (not part of WE, are in FPU) : not yet qualified for cryogenic use • Distribution Board „Evaluation“(not part of WE, FPU) : visit at Board manufacturer „Waltron“ still pending • Cryo Harness Verification and Compliance Matrix missing • Agreement on full PFM WE Unit Qualification prior to delivery to MPE • Risk that DECMEC functionality and performance could shorten the Qualification programme. Additionally the Heater / FlasherElectronics for Photoconductor curing has to be implemented in DECMEC. • Solution for DPU 1553 Burst Mode Problem pending Warm Electronics Qualification Status

  15. Critical Qualification Items II • Spectrometer Grounding Decision after Data Analysis : Warm-end or Cold-end-Grounding • Agreement on ESD Testing at the end of EQM IST open • RS-H of Photometer / Bolometer very high • BOLC QM1 with external PS not EMC ILT tested • BOLC uncontrolled switch-off could damage the bolometers (NCR existing) Warm Electronics Qualification Status
