  2. Background • Founded in 2005. • Forum for NGOs dealing with Health issues • For Purposes of collaboration, sharing experiences and advocacy. • First AGM in February 2005-HENNET Constitution adopted and an Executive Committee elected.

  3. HENNET VISION, MISSION AND OBJECTIVES • Vision ‘A healthy Kenyan Society’. • Mission ‘ stimulate linkages and partnerships among NGOs , government and the private sector. Objectives; 1. Articulate health needs and promote effective allocation of health resources. 2. Articulate and address challenges and constraints affecting NGOs.

  4. HENNET OBJECTIVES CONTINUED 3. Share information and lessons learnt. 4. Support Health NGOs in their advocacy role. 5. Coordinate NGOs health activities.

  5. HENNET OBJECTIVES CONTINUED 6.Participate in the development and implementation of national health plans and policies 7. Build alliances with other Health Networks 8. Build capacity of HENNET members.

  6. What has HENNET achieved so far • Setting up of a functional secretariat. • Recognition of HENNET by MOH as a key stakeholder. • HENNET member organisations have participated in the Health SWAp initiatives. • Successfully participated in the MOH Joint Design Mission.

  7. HENNET ONGOING KEY ACTIVITIES • Initiated a situational analysis of Health oriented NGOs. • Summarising of Key National Health policy documents. • Dialogue on Public Private Partnership based on the Joint Design Mission Recommendations. • Collection and Compilation of Best Practices in regard to Community Health approaches/Models. • Setting up of the HENNET Website

  8. HOW CAN CEOs SUPPORT HENNET • Promote the Network. • Engagement and discussions in the relevant foras. • Participation in HENNET initiatives. • Ensure payment of membership fee.
