  21. What is Lodge Vitality ?

  22. The 2017 Vision Brotherly Love Relief Truth

  23. Defining Vitality & Momentum VITALITY 1. The capacity to live and develop 2. Energy or vigor 3. That which distinguishes living from nonliving things MOMENTUM 1. (physics) the product of a body’s mass and velocity. 2. The impetus, either of a body in motion, or of an idea or course of events.

  24. Or Expressed Another Way…. The Vitality in a Masonic Lodge is like the energy stored in a battery - it is only effective when we use it to create positive Momentum forward, driving the Lodge into the future. Vitality + Momentum = Long Term Sustainability

  25. "A team's spectacular achievements are always preceded by unspectacular preparation." - Roger Staubach

  26. No One Said This Was Going to be Easy We are recommending that the application of analytics and use of general business management improvement practices along with the collection of empirical data will start a Lodge down the road to long range vitality. Any long term fitness program always starts with a checkup to determine the current level of health STEP ONE Assess the current vitality & momentum level within the Lodge STEP TWO Develop a tactical plan to improve the long term Lodge vitality and momentum

  27. In light of the fact that no other organization can offer the same product, we have a monopoly. Maximizing value, demand will thus eventually meet supply at a high price, given our number of lodges; limiting supply in fact provides a ‘rare stamp’ economic equation, as we can only initiate a fixed number of candidates annually. Yet Freemasonry is misunderstood, unfortunately, and so other organizations, such as KofC, suggest they offer a similar experience. i) Product

  31. Can You say: “Multi-tasking”?

  32. 21st Century Man What defines ‘Manhood’ andMasculinity’ in 2008?

  33. Where Have All the Role Models Gone ?

  34. “The search after the great man is the dream of youth and the most serious occupation of manhood.… Man can paint, or make, or think, nothing but man. He believes that the great material elements had their origin from his thought.… Other men are lenses through which we read our own minds. Each man seeks those of different quality from his own, and such as are good of his kind; that is, he seeks other men.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson “Uses of Great Men,” Representative Men,

  35. The Lodge’s Purpose What is the purpose of a Masonic Lodge? To host annual Ladies nights ? To provide a succession of officers through the chairs ? To encourage members to memorize the ritual ? To sit on committees and try to figure stuff out? To have a delicious Roast Beef dinner with friends?

  36. When You Became a Freemason Think back (way back) to the day of your initiation As a candidate, what were you excited about prior to the 1st degree ?

  37. The Purpose The purpose of a Masonic Lodge is: To Make Good Men Better. We accomplish this: Through a beautiful system of morality, veiled in allegory, illustrated by symbols.

  38. From Darkness to Light Freemasonry exists first and foremost to transform men. Transformation takes place because one is initiated into a fellowship of men. Within that fellowship that he is introduced to his own path of self improvement — a journey which enables him to harmonize his personal need for fulfillment within a collective well-being. This pathway is nothing less than the road to mature masculinity. Robert G. Davis 33

  39. Freemasonry’s Virtues Some of the over 102 virtues taught in the degree’s of Freemasonry Temperance Fortitude Prudence Justice Charity Labour Purity Industry Duty Equality Humanity Confidentiality Obedience Courtesy Reason Forgiveness Awareness Affection Contemplation Incorruptibility Reverence Liberty Freedom Fidelity Constancy Perseverance Equity Uprightness Affability Kindness Gentleness Faithfulness Loyalty Honesty Integrity Sincerity Empathy Generosity Toleration Strength Preparedness Compassion Devotedness Openness Firmness Frankness Zeal Piety Benevolence Fairness Self-Denial Heroism Patriotism Morality Impartiality Judgment Vigilances Responsibility Self respect Sympathy Clemency Truth Trustfulness Love Chastity Serenity Patience Punctuality Mercy Forbearance Veneration Gratitude Confidence Ethics Modesty Usefulness Dignity Determination Nobleness Service Sacrifice Happiness Balance Worthiness Wisdom Perfection Understanding Uprightness Self Discipline Knowledge

  42. Freemasonry’s Mission Making Good Men Better The task of freemasonry is to not only erect the path toward the mature masculinity, but to make sure that its members are on it themselves; and those who come after them will also be on it. Our Strength Freemasonry’s strength lies in the fact that it offers the right model by which men can grow and achieve balance in their human and spiritual lives. Freemasonry tenders a medium for collective dialogue in the ways of virtue and ethics. It offers the role of patriarchy to men—male role modeling, if you will—which guides younger men from a sort of boyish self centeredness to mature and manly judgment. It does this by leading them back to timeless, ethical, and spiritual traditions which facilitate their own transformation and rebirth into manhood. The Way Forward Lodges will find their way into a sure and vital twenty first century future by securely anchoring themselves into the lessons and virtues of the past.
