  2. C.P.S. “Clicker” History • The eInstruction company was founded in 1980 by Dr. Darrell Ward and still remains the leading student response system in education with millions of users of all age levels. In 2006 eInstruction obtained FSCreations designers of ExamView which created a question bank for the C.P.S. clicker system and in 2008 the company obtained Interwrite Learning creators InterwriteSchoolPad systems. Lastly eInstruction launched the eCommunity to allow educators to share the information online and create a link between CPS systems and Study Island software. (Source C.P.S. 3. Teaching with C.P.S. “Clickers” • CPS classroom, students use devices to click answers into a hub that records and compiles the data into many different platforms and the teacher can select the format of choice. Instant feedback allows the students to judge their performance and removes the burden of checking papers and reviewing completed tasks with the students. This gadget also allows and encourages teachable moments as the students will has high order thinking questions. • C.P.S. Lesson Plan

  5. More Data! • In the next seven slides you will be able to view the questions that were used with the clickers. It was a combination between a four question vocabulary review and reading comprehension from the Chapter. Students were studying “Resources and Power in Post-apartheid South Africa (Geography Alive People and Regions). Additionally graphics are added with the questions to give another example of how the teacher or class can view the results of the quiz.

  13. Reflection • Upon reflecting on the lesson I realized that the students enjoyed using the “clickers” immensely. The clickers were easier and faster to pass out when compared to lap tops or traveling to a computer lab and logging on to the computers. I showed the students the graphics for each question and , in my opinion, they were able to ask questions that were higher order thinking due to the quick feedback and graphic data. I enjoyed the ability to “dump” the information into my digital grade book as well. The only fall back that I could see is when a battery when down a small screw needed to be removed in order to replace the battery, but I assume that is to protect the younger users of the C.P.S. “Clickers”. I would recommend the use of the “Clickers” to any and all educators!
