  2. Arrangement The arrangement of this book is a simple, alphabetical format like one would find in the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Indexing Indexes include a table of contents, and index of themes, and an index of supplementary words. Purpose To paraphrase the book itself, it is a guide to the images and ideas that shape our world. It is also a resource on culture, with a great deal of information about the mythology and beliefs of various religions. I could see it used both as a reference for students and teachers, as well as something someone might read just for fun.

It doesn't seem likely that ancient history has changed much in the past three years. Scope A wide range of cultures are depicted in this book. It contains information on symbolization, both religious and cultural. For example, fountains generally symbolize life, and flowers generally symbolize nature. In addition, there is a great deal of emphasise on mythology. Formats This information is only available as a book. The book is 544 pages, about nine inches tall, and about six inches wide. ... to create the Tudor Rose. Special Features Aside from the indexes, this book also includes a large amount of illustrations such as maps, etc. Authority/Credentials/Reviews I was unable to locate information on Jack Tresidder, but I did find several book reviews on EBSCO. Denise Johnson from the Library Journal says, “Bottom Line This book is easy and pleasant to use, featuring an engaging writing and lavish illustrations... Finally, the price is reasonable enough for most libraries to purchase both reference and circulating copies. Highly recommended.” Personal Impression I would say that 'complete' is pushing it a little. However, it is extensive, informative, and entertaining. Johnson, Denise.
