There are affordable social media marketing services, or even free ones like promoting yourself through Facebook. When you use social media tools for marketing, you might worry about not increasing your traffic at all or not using your social media monitoring tools to your best advantage. Here is a list of the 8 best ways you can use social media marketing services to promote your business on social channels. 2. 1.
Keep in mind the one out of seven rule
. This rule is referring to the fact that only one out of every seven posts should promote your business overtly. The other six posts should focus on sharing and distributing content that your audience will find interesting and not feel advertised to on a huge scale. Now, this doesn’t mean that you can’t promote yourself, but you just shouldn’t overly promote yourself to the point where it becomes overbearing. 2. Ask questions that can start a conversation. People enjoy sharing their opinions and being heard, especially on these types of websites. Take to Facebook or start a poll on Twitter and find out what people will react to. You can ask generalized questions about current events. These questions and polls should intertwine somehow with your business, and could have a prize for entering their opinion. Engage your customers and they’ll remember you. 3. Share your knowledge. Post fun facts about things to do with your business and make them into the form of questions with a prize for the first person to answer the question correctly. People love being right and showing off what they know, plus, they love winning. 4. Post things that have value. It is important to post fun things that reflect the personality of your business, it is also important to have content that is beneficial in some way for your followers. This could mean posting tips, providing information for needs, or posting about special deals on services and products. All of these can provide a benefit to your viewers. 5. Make them have a reason to check-in virtually. You could double the points a customer receives when they check in on something like Foursquare and triple the amount of points he or she earns by bringing a friend, for a limited amount of time, of course. This will make them come in more and their friends will see where they’ve been checking out, it turns into a great advertisement opportunity for you. 6. Make a Pinterest board. People love Pinterest and it’s a great way to promote yourself by having an eye-catching board. You can run a contest through it to inspire and reward your customers for participating in the contest. Encourage them to re-pin or create their own boards to reflect the contest for extra promotion for your business marketing campaign. 7. Avoid spamming the same message to all of your media outlets. When one message appears on every site you run, you lose all the sincerity that was behind your message. Similar language is okay, but change up the words so it keeps the same message but with a different wording that is better suited to the communications outlet the message is on. 8. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Focus on the media outlet that gets you the most traffic. It is okay to have more than one media outlet, it is encouraged in fact, but having about 15 different communications media accounts leaves you without time to run all of them and keep them all unique. It is easier to keep up with about three different accounts and the people that follow them.
